The Sixth Trumpet of Revelation: The Leviathan, the Army of the Orient, and the Desolations Decreed

The Angelic war in Heaven concludes with the ending of the first four trumpets. The Last three trumpets are referred to as three woes. They are woes for the inhabitants of the earth because the Devil and his angels have come down to them. They are filled with wrath and will attack all those with whom God loves. The battlefront that originated in Heaven has now moved to the earth where people will be caught in the middle. In the fifth trumpet, Lucifer unleashes locust upon all of mankind; this is the first woe. At the time of the sixth trumpet, the four angels bound at the river Euphrates will also be unleashed. This will be the second woe for all of mankind.

The Similarities between the Ancient Leviathan of old and the dragons of the orient.

The fact that these Angels are bound is an indication these are demons. Holy Angels obey God and would not require being bound. Their description is that of a lion head with a serpent tail and that of a second head on that tail. We are also told these angels are fire breathing given that fire, smoke, and brimstone proceed from their mouths. They sound a lot like the fire breathing dragons of the orient.
The word Dragon derives from two Greek words that mean ‘large snake’ and ‘one that sees clearly’. The orient has a very different view of Dragons than the west. Dragons in Chinese culture are deities. In eastern cultures such as Korea, Japan, and China, dragons are the angels of the orient that can coexist in Heaven with God and have magical powers. They can be considered wise and overseers of people. In the Orient, dragons have strong associations with water. Dragons are considered to be the rulers of moving water such as waterfalls, rivers, or seas and are sometimes said to reside there. There are supposedly four major dragon kings for each of the seas. They are considered to be in charge of all water related events. When two dragons are placed on opposite sides, they symbolize eternity. No one really knows where these eastern traditions originated given how far back they go in antiquity. These legends sound very similar to the tales of the Leviathan written about in Scripture. A creature Job and his contemporaries were all too familiar with. A creature that God Himself says could not be subdued by human strength alone and that no one would dare stir. Both the Bible and Jewish tradition speak of the Leviathan that coiling serpent being destroyed by God in the last days and that his Flesh would be served as food for the children of Israel in the wilderness.

The Connection between the Euphrates, Babylon, and Oriental Traditions

Why are they bound at the River Euphrates? Their binding likely occurred around the time that Nimrod built the tower of Babel. Because Scripture indicates that all mystery religions derive from this period, it is likely that all the oriental traditions of dragons originate from such a period as well. The descendants of the orient all originate from the Sinites; they were a near cousin of Nimrod and descendants of Ham and Noah. A great many of the word picture concepts found embedded in the ancient Chinese language have their origin from stories in the Genesis account of creation and the flood. In fact, the Chinese word for pagoda has it’s roots from the tower of Babel. Pagodas are religious tower shrines with wide overhanging eaves separating each level. They are all over Asia and the Far east. The ancient Chinese pictograph term for pagoda derives from simpler Chinese words that mean ‘bricks made from grass and clay when mankind had one mouth’. Anyone familiar with the story of the tower of Babel should immediately recognize the story embedded into the very Chinese language. Early after the flood, mankind had one language and they all attempted to build a tower to Heaven to escape a second worldwide flood; a flood God promised them would never come by his rainbow. Nimrod in defiance of God’s command to multiply and spread across the earth rallied the people to cities built along the valley of Shinar near the Euphrates River. They ultimately were scattered across the face of the earth when God confused their language. The tower and city were eventually named Babel because the Lord confused the language of all the earth there. If many of these concepts were embedded in the language and traditions of the orient, it is plausible their dragon traditions also found root from angels who were ultimately bound at the River Euphrates at that time.

Background on the Angel’s army of the orient and it’s size

Scripture tells us the Army of horsemen that follow these angels would be 200 million strong. Everyone knows that China alone currently wields an army of this size although the Bible does not imply this army comes exclusively from one nation. We are told the Dragon, the Anti-Christ, and the false prophet will summon this army to battle from the Kings of the east for the great battle of Armageddon. Why does this army follow the dragon? They have been prepared and conditioned for this specific point in time. As mentioned previously, the orient takes a very positive view of dragons from their traditions. In the orient, dragons are divine mythical creatures that can ward off spirits, bring safety, and good fortune to all who wear their images as emblems. With such a perspective, why would you not want to wear breastplates bearing their images in fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow? In Feng Shui, if you are born in the year of the dragon (every 12 years), this is considered very good fortune. If one’s tradition raises a person to have reverence for such a dragon, why would that person not march to war when a real dragon calls upon them to do so? Only retraining people in the ways of the Lord could avert this.

Christians will stop crying for Mercy and start calling for vengeance

The Golden altar is normally a place where incense was placed. This incense was representative of the prayer of the saints. People like Joab would grab the horns of the golden altar in a demonstration plea for mercy. At this point in time, people will only be crying for vengeance. It may be a hard thing to imagine but as wickedness grows and develops the concept will not seem so foreign. As Christ’s church matures, the saint’s tolerance for evil will diminish and they will be ready to go home. As wickedness grows like a weed, their tolerance for those who are good will also diminish. There can be no harmony between Christ and Belial. This only spells that their will only be an eventual tipping point. It is hard to imagine that someone will actually be praying for this Leviathan to be released, but someday someone will. This Leviathan’s fetters would be unleashed in the last days for the sole purpose of killing a third of mankind. They will be killed by the fire, smoke, and brimstone that comes out of their mouths. Between the 1/3 killed at the time of the sixth trumpet and the ¼ killed at the opening of the fourth seal, half the population of the entire earth will be destroyed. Desolations are decreed. If these days were not shortened, no flesh would be saved. But for the elect sake, these days will be shortened. The people who are left from these plagues are those who did not repent of their evil ways. When the last believer is taken from the earth, then no one will stand in the gap for averting God’s wrath from the children of Men. By removing all that is good from the earth, nothing remains for God to restrain his wrath. By killing all that is good, they unknowingly seal their own doom. Perhaps the prayer made for the angels to be released was to bring the world to this eventual tipping point.
