Beastiality, Zoophilia: Don't behave like an Animal

God would not make the prohibition against bestiality unless there were people out there who actually indulged in this kind of activity.  Far too many people take their pets out in the woods to abuse them.   The consequences for this behavior are real and God provides a way out if people want it.

  • Point 1: Pets should not be used an easy cop out from human relationships
Many people have a need to be needed.  When others decline to need them, a pet often becomes the normal substitute. In society, we refer to a dog as man’s best friend.  We say this because of how they treat us. Pets always seem to accept us unconditionally despite all our personal flaws.  As a result, a person’s need to nurture will often find it’s outlet in pampering animals.  Many individuals prefer the company of their pets over people.   Relationships with people may require work, but they are always worth the effort.  People take this too far when they seek sexual gratification with their animals.  A person has to merit the attraction of another to find a human spouse. It's healthy for a person to win someone's affections; it develops character.  Pets are an easy cop out. They love you because you feed them.  Using Animals for gratification is an incredibly low bar.  This path that should not be taken.

  • Point 2: The Passions for Bestiality are always fueled by Lust not love
In my mind, no deviant sexual behavior should be more easily identified as lust to people than beastiality.  Behaving like an animal can be no clearer sign.  Arguing that inter species sex occurring in the wild somehow makes the behavior natural cannot be called healthy.  If you take your ques from wild kingdom, you are only behaving like them and not the way God intended you to be. Morality is supposed to distinguish us from the animal kingdom.  Arguing that beastiality is not degrading to people because humans are animals themselves proves my point.  It’s never considered stooping down once your thinking has hit a new all- time low.  Justifying sex with animals by describing how we use them as food only proves that you are using them; this cannot be called love.  The only aim of lust is merely to gratify self.  Qualifying different kinds of zoo sex as good and other as bad is only trying to muddle the issue.   Animals cannot provide you consent, if they cannot speak at all.  Wishful thinking can never be considered consent.

  • Point 3: It’s never in your interest to practice bestiality
Morality qualifies for people whether certain behaviors are truly loving or not. Morality is not merely just a point of view or a preference. If morality qualifies a behavior as sick, it’s because it is; it’s not a mere opinion.  Morality calls any sex with a four legged friend a perversion- a twisting of love into worship of other things.  These ideas hold real consequences for people.  The Scripture says that sex with animals would defile a person; this means you can ruin yourself by indulging in such activities.  This prohibition is not given to restrict people’s pleasure but to protect them from ruin.  Preserving oneself should be a strong motivator for wanting to change.  Shed the lust for these things or it will ruin you.

  • Point 4: There is always a way out of the feeling if you want it.
A person has the freedom to remain sick if they want, but they remain sick.  A person can also choose to get better.  I have written about lust, how these feelings develop, and how to overcome them in previous posts.  The summary of them is to be willing to learn about God and his ways and begin to follow them.  Being willing to learn and being willing to change is all it really takes on your part for personal transformation.  Passions will change as your thinking changes.  No one should be willing to destroy themselves, if they really understood how their behavior did just that.  God will cleanse you of any uncleanness if you learn from him.  He promises that though your sins be like scarlet, He can make them white as snow.  I encourage you to reach out to him.  Those who come to him, he never turns away.  Fail to forsake beastiality and the very behavior you indulge in will become your own undoing.
