Nudity, Naturism- The Real Problem with going O' Natural

Nothing wrong with nudity itself but in flaunting it in front of others.

Nudists will often quote how Adam and Eve were both naked and were not ashamed. They argue how God made our bodies and that people should not be ashamed of them- as if naked bodies in themselves were really the problem. They confuse nakedness itself with the sinful motives behind the behavior. Getting naked, in itself, is not wrong. I imagine everyone gets naked when they take a shower to wash themselves and there is nothing wrong with this (at least I hope for their sake they do). The problem really resides with public nudity; people who insist on getting naked in the presence of others. Exposing oneself without regard for the sensitivities of others around them is an unloving act; this should be self evident to anyone.

The motives behind public nudity are what make it a shameful thing.

Why is there shame attached to public nudity? It is not really about nakedness in itself but about the sinful nature of people. When Adam and Eve both became sinners, they lost their innocence. The fact that Adam and Eve noticed they were naked shows how they were now looking at each other; the shame they felt afterward betrayed their real feelings on the matter. It is not nakedness itself that is the problem, but the sinful nature aroused within people because of it. God gave Adam and Eve clothes to curtail this sin and society does well if people keep their clothes on in public settings. Liberating people to go without clothes will only bring out the worst in people. Walk naked down a dark alley in a bad neighborhood and one would only be asking for trouble.

The real motives of nudists exposed and explained.

When it comes to public nudity, there are really only two primary motives for doing so. Nudists either want to see others naked or they want to be seen by others naked. It really is as simple as that. Exhibiting one's nakedness to get attention is certainly shameful. Sneaking a peek at someone else's nakedness is equally shameful. Nudists work to detach from this shame by playing stupid; they either pretend they are not looking at someone’s nakedness or playing stupid to exhibiting one’s own nakedness. They frolic around in natural settings pretending not to notice or be noticed in their birthday suit. They are dishonest perverts and exhibitionists. Nudists may delude each other in the private resort, but they all know the game does not fly in the real world. This is why every nudist puts their clothes on when outside the resort. Their own behavior demonstrates their awareness; it shows they really know better.

Ad Hominen Arguments from Nudist proponents laid bare.

Nudist work very hard to disassociate their motives from their actions. They may even try to shame others for even implying their motives would somehow be less than pure. They do this by blame shifting; suggesting anyone who would call out their behavior is the one with the dirty mind. As if recognizing bad behavior for what it is was somehow worse than indulging in the practice. Such ad hominen attacks sometimes silence the critic, but it only demonstrates their hypocrisy. Scripture declares everyone has a sinful nature; some are just more honest than others about it. A person who is straightforward and does not attempt to play any head games with people demonstrates nobility. Someone who gets naked to see or be seen by others and then feigns innocence about the whole affair should not be trusted.
